I couldn't put it down. I've read it twice and I cried both times. Your Smile, Alicia was a brave woman. I only hope that I could have half her courage if faced with the same diagnosis. She lives in John. She lives just as we All will on that glorious day.

This was a quick, inspiring read. Thank you to Alicia and to you for sharing your experience and your path for handling this disease.

Having had sarcoma surgery in 2012, could relate to so much of “Your Smile” experience about hurry up and get this scan, hurry get that scan, then hear, “oh it’s the holiday or weekend, you won’t hear results for a few days.” And the packed waiting rooms, then leave you alone in a little room to ponder/worry way too long about what they are going to say. Have followed your”C” You Tube sessions that you and Alicia did, saw you ask/looking for “my smile “ at the Christmas concert in South Pittsburg, the great times/memories at The Dunlap Mercantile. Thank you for finishing Alicia’s memoir that she started. But it’s not finished. She’s waiting patiently to say, “what took you so long”. “Go do! One step, one breath, one day at a time”

Enjoying my recent CD purchase and will be beginning the book soon. Recently dealing with abnormal mammogram results again myself after cancer diagnosis in 2001 and could not bring myself to begin. So thankful to say I received a good report after recent biopsy and will begin reading your book very soon. I have been a fan since Dukes. I now have all of the movies. I have watched to die fro over 30 times. I follow Johns updates on fakebook. But I jumped at the chance to learn more about Alicia. I am sure her book will help a lot of people. Just as Johns continued writings are helping those who have lost loved ones.

I bought the book, In The Drivers Seat! I literally could not put it down. I read the whole book in 3 days. Even though I knew how it the story ends it still broke my heart: “My Smile” was one tough lady! And we all need to remember to stay in “The Drivers Seat” when it comes to navigating the medical system. I recommend this book to everyone! But especially anyone who had a disease that requires a lot of medical intervention!

I read this book in less than 24 hours! I *never* do that. The open, insightful and compelling thoughts and clear conversational writing drew me in and wouldn’t let go. I’ve shared a link to the store with several who are on the cancer journey. Thanks for your conviction that this story had to be told.

The book was fabulous…..a look into her journal of going through this horrible cancer with her husband by her side …the bravery of sharing this intimate part of her life …and both through this battle …and somehow she knowing possibly giving strength to others going through this battle by sharing and yet redefines what we are going through (loss)and this will be with us in our new journeys forever with our memories and I do believe it helps and gives us the strength to pay it forward by helping ones going through what we are going through Thank You

I received the book this week, but haven't finished reading it yet. I love the book!

This book....where do I start? I read it in one day. It reads so well that I can almost hear Alicia telling the story in her own voice. What an amazing woman!!! She cared for others more than herself. I cannot wait to meet her someday and I am sure she is the same as she says "on earth as it is in Heaven!" Buy this book!!!!

So far so good on this book but I haven’t read much of it yet. I’m sure it’s pretty good though and kind of triggered me because I had cancer last year and I really didn’t have any support so at least it didn’t take very long to get the diagnosis and have surgery And be cancer free it’s been over a year and I’m still cancer free. I don’t have to have any chemo radiation. I had uterine cancer but we caught it really early so I was interested in reading her book in case God forbid something should happen again maybe I’ll be a little more prepared , and a little more proactive

I read the whole book in one setting! I am truly sorry John lost his Smile! The pain that Alecia went through I could not imagine! I know she is happy and pain free with Father in heaven! I loved everything about the book!

Certainly, here's a revised version: --- I received my book a couple of days ago, but unfortunately, due to the weather, I was only able to pick it up from my mailbox today. I'm eager to begin reading this journey of love and loss. As God's children, we believe that everything in life has a purpose. While I haven't experienced the loss of a husband, I did lose my father over 30 years ago, and the pain still feels fresh. I've learned to navigate life without his physical presence, but the ache endures. I can't fully comprehend what Mr. Schneider is going through, but I believe that with time, he will heal, glean wisdom from this experience, and reunite with his loved one in heaven. May God keep everyone safe, bringing peace and strength to continue forward on this path.

I finished “In The Driver’s Seat” in a little over 4 hours, it is an AMAZING book! It is well-written. I love the perspective readers have of Alicia as she navigates the health care system. This book allowed me to see through Alicia’s eyes what patients go through in our health care system. As a mental health care manager I hope to be able to pass on what I’ve learned from this book to clients who are facing health issues.
